I study where kids and families find room to learn, play, and belong in San Francisco. I also organize so our public schools can be places where families lean on each other.

About

Student, parent, organizer

I'm a student at City College of San Francisco, studying sociology, child development, and Spanish. I'm working toward a teaching credential and a master's in education.

I came back to school after a career in communication design and twelve years at home with my two kids, who now go to SF public schools in the Excelsior. I grew up homeschooled, and my mom was my first teacher. That's a big part of why I care about how kids learn, who gets to shape it, and what families need to be part of it.

My research and my organizing feed each other. Most of my questions start at my kids' school, on Ocean Avenue, or in a park with the families I've been meeting with every week since 2015.
